Does Ashwagandha really work ? you probably  ask your self. Before I answer this question I will give you a little background of this green bush that grows in India, the Middle East and parts of Africa. Both its roots and orange-red fruits have been used for many years in the medical field. The herb is also called Indian ginseng or winter cherry. The herb is used in a medical system called Ayurvedic which is a health care practice that started in India over 3,000 years ago. Ayurvedic medicine considers ashwagandha a Rasayana. This means that it is an herb that helps maintain your youth both mentally and physically.

Definition of Ayurvedic

Ayurveda is a form of alternative treatment used in Hinduism. There are 3 different elements in Ayurveda. The 3 elements are called Pitta, Vata and Kapha respectively. Pitta is a fire that is associated with our vision. Vata is space and air associated with our hearing and feeling. Kapha is water and soil that are associated with our taste and smell.

Within Ayurveda, we are divided into 3 different elements. You are often assigned 2 of the 3 elements and one is the main element. The elements stand for your body type.
